Quality Control Technician will monitor daily activities of asphalt and earthwork for conformance of work on various projects to ensure materials meet specifications.
Position will perform field inspections activities such as construction observation and field sampling of asphalt, concrete, and earthwork application.
QC Technician will also track material quantities and document them accurately.

Description of Tasks:
The following is an abbreviated list of tasks:
Check construction activities on assigned projects to ensure compliance with the plans and specifications.
Material sampling of asphalt, earthwork and aggregates Immediately inform the onsite construction foreman of any work that is noncompliant Ensures that all testing required by the specification in company policy is performed Ensures that tests are performed at the frequency stated in the specifications or company policy Informs the onsite construction foreman of deficiencies so that corrections can be made and retesting performed prior to any substandard work with additional material Tracks and reports construction material quantities Completes construction diary & takes pictures to document job Work safely, wear applicable PPE and notify supervisor of any potentially unsafe situations Perform any other special projects as needed _______________________________________________________________________________ II.
Prerequisites For Position:
Formal Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Skills Required:
Must Have SCDOT Roadway Certification Excellent math skills (adding, subtracting, division, multiplication, percentages & weights) Two or more years of highway construction in asphalt, reclamation, and site preparation required.
Strong communication skills Basic computer literacy Self-motivated and able to work independently and cooperatively with others Organized, accurate and thorough with attention to detail Willing to learn and have a positive attitude Ability to listen and follow instructions as given Demonstrate cooperative mannerisms to fellow-workers, foreman, and customers Consistently arrives for work at the scheduled time Follow proper procedure for absences from work Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver's license prior to employment Job Type:
