Embracing Service, Inspiring Innovation, Promoting Teamwork, Pursuing Excellence, and Advancing Equity Under the supervision of the Administrative Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant would manage the front office setting to meet, interview, and direct public health clients in accordance with program and agency policies following established guidelines around customer service and competency.
Customer Service and Support:
Direct visitors of the site to the appropriate office settings and manage all deliveries of the site; have the ability to stand periodic and lift up to, thirty (30) pounds.
Answer switchboard to direct and answer calls to to schedule appointments or direct callers to the appointment line due to the volume of callers if necessary.
Provide support for the Administrative Program and Nursing staff when assigned to include correspondences, and the ability to type a minimum of thirty five (35) wpm and perform tasks in Microsoft Suites to include, ( Word, Excel, etc.
) Complete medical record duties for clinic and audit purposes; medical record release procedures in the electronic health records (EHR) and intake of outside records; and perform the annual archival procedures for the site.
Maintain inventory of supplies, and necessary materials of the site.
Attend relevant program and agency training and meetings.
Emergency Preparedness:
In accordance with the State's Disaster Plan, which includes hazardous weather, DHEC employees may be required to work in times of an emergency or disaster.
State Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma.
Related clerical experience may be substituted for a high school diploma.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Agency Additional Requirements:
High School diploma or GED and (1) year of medical office/clinical clerical office experience.
Must be able to type thirty-five (35) words per minute.
This position is part of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control's Administration.
The work performed supports DHEC's mission to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians by protecting and promoting the health of the public and the environment.
Effective July 1, 2024, this position will transfer to the South Carolina Department of Public Health created by Senate Bill 399 which provides for the creation of the Department of Public Health to assume the public health-related functions of DHEC.
Driving Record:
If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver's license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10-year driving record.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
